Railings – Quality and Tradition for 80 Years
For over 80 years, we have supplied railings (balustrades) for residential properties, cabins, and buildings across the country. With a wide selection of models for indoor and outdoor use, you can find solutions that suit every style—whether you want a sleek, modern look or a classic, stately feel. Wood gives the railing a timeless, natural expression and creates a warm atmosphere. For a lighter and more modern touch, the posts can be supplied with grooves for combination with glass.

Indoor Railings (balustrades)
We make internal railings from untreated finger-jointed pine, with an almost knot-free quality for a clean and elegant look. If you desire other types of wood, we can also supply these. All products for indoor railings are delivered ready for surface treatment.
Baluster
A baluster is the vertical spindle in the railing. We make both lathe-turned and square profiles in standard dimensions from 3.5x3.5 cm to 6x6 cm. The standard height is 87 cm, with a pattern length between 43-55 cm depending on the model. We recommend seven balusters per linear metre of railing.
Newel Post
A newel post stabilises the railing and is usually placed in corners, at the top and bottom of stairs, or where there are long distances between railing corners. We recommend one newel post for every 1.5-2 m. Our newel posts have standard dimensions of Ø9-14 cm and 9x9 cm to 14x14 cm. Standard height is 135 cm or 170 cm with a long neck and an extended square base section. The pattern length varies between 55-83 cm depending on the model.
The newel posts can be ordered with alternative newel finials and newel caps. Standard dimensions are between 7-18 cm depending on the model.
Handrail, Pine Sawn Lath, and Bottom Rail
The handrail, pine sawn lath, and bottom rail are supplied in random lengths, or cut to size, which must be specified when ordering.
We standardly produce one round and two profiled handrails with standard dimensions of Ø3.5-7 cm, 6x7 cm, and 4x7 cm respectively.
The pine sawn lath is standardly produced in 4x0.6 cm and contributes to seamless installation.
To avoid visible screw holes in the handrail and baluster, the pine sawn lath is screwed down into the baluster from above. A profiled handrail is placed on top of the pine sawn lath and screwed up into the handrail from the underside of the pine sawn lath. One of the profiled handrails is made with a groove for the pine sawn lath. We sell handrail brackets for mounting the round handrail.
The bottom rail is standardly produced in a 6x2 cm square edge profile and is used both for stairs and flat floors.
Outdoor Railings
We supply external railings in solid pine/spruce, pressure-impregnated pine, laminated pine/spruce, and pressure-impregnated laminated pine depending on the dimension and product. If you desire other types of wood, we can also supply these. All products for outdoor railings are delivered ready for surface treatment.

The bottom rail for outdoor use is made with bevel-cut giving a triangular profile for better water runoff and is produced in pressure-impregnated pine in standard dimensions 73x46 mm, 98x mm, and 125x46 mm. For outdoor stairs, we produce the bottom rail in pressure-impregnated pine in a 98x48 mm square edge profile.
Newel Finials and Newel Caps
Each newel post includes a newel finial or newel cap depending on the model. The newel finials and newel caps can also be ordered separately if you wish for an alternative top for your newel post or want to replace the one you already have. Restoration and Copying of Old and Existing Railings
Do you have an existing railing whose style you wish to preserve? We are happy to create a copy of your old model. To produce an exact match, we need a template or a physical example. If we receive a detailed, dimensioned sketch, we can produce a model closely resembling the old one. Price upon request, and an additional fee for the lathe-turning template applies. Please contact us, and we will gladly assist you.
Safety and Function
Railings have a dual function – they must prevent falls and, at the same time, provide an aesthetic lift to the property. Falling accidents pose a significant risk, and railings are crucial in preventing them. Material choice, design, and correct installation are therefore important for a safe and lasting result. We recommend using professionals for installation.
